FAQ
How do the Group Sessions work?
A great way to save some money! I only recommend this option for small groups of students who are working on the same subject and ideally with the same teacher. This way the entire session should be relevant and useful to each student taking part. The rates are $60/hr per student for 2 students, $50/hr per student for 3 students, $40/hr per student for 4 or more students. If a session is planned as a group session, but then turns out to be a normal one person session or includes fewer students than planned, we will revert to the appropriate rate.
You can book an available time right here! You can also feel free to visit my online booking calendar anytime you like.
How do I set up an individual session?
We cover all Basic Math, Pre-algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus AB and BC. We can also help you prepare for the SAT and ACT. At this time, we do NOT cover AP Statistics.
Which math topics do you cover?
We focus on Junior High and High School students (ages 12-18). However under some circumstances we also work with college students as well as younger children.
What ages do you work with?
How long are your sessions?
Generally 1 hour or 30 mintues. We're open to longer sessions, but we find that most students tend to hit a wall after an hour. So we generally encourage multiple normal length appointments versus fewer longer cramming sessions. Officially, hour long session only guarantee you 50 minutes of actual tutoring (much like seeing a therapist for example), however we will try to give you a full hour whenever desired by you and possible for us.
Yes! Our outstanding resident scientist, Jessica, covers all high school level Chemistry and Biology courses. You book sessions to work with her on the same page as you do for math sessions.
Do you tutor subjects other than math?

Do you have official policies in for scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, payment, etc?
How do I secure a weekly session time?
Where do your sessions take place?
Mostly on Zoom. However, Michael also regularly sees in-person students on Wednesdays and Sundays. However the availability and flexibility of these appointments are limited by geography. If you don't live (or are not willing to travel to specific parts of Atlanta) at specific times of the day, this option may not be for you. Science tutoring with Jessica is exclusively conducted via Zoom.
Call, e-mail, or text me and we can discuss what's available. My phone number is (805) 680-6015 and my email address is michaelhansonmt@gmail.com.

Yes to all of the above. We strive to be fair, flexible, and understanding at all times. That said, we do have some rules. They can all be reviewed here.
How is payment handled?
Do you tutor during the summer?
Absolutely! We are thrilled to help your student with their summer or online courses and create a personalized curriculum that addresses their specific concerns and objectives. Whether we're reviewing last year's material, previewing upcoming topics, or focusing on standardized test prep, we are confident that with the help of Khan Academy and Zoom, we can create a plan that meets your budget and goals. Let's get started!
We accept payment through Venmo and Zelle, whichever you prefer.

Whichever platform you prefer, we can proceed one of two ways.

1) Pay-As-You-Go
We will send you an invoice request on your preferred platform after each individual session. We ask that you complete the payment within two days and certainly before your student has any more sessions with us.

2) Pre-Paying for Credits
We highly encourage this option for students planning to stick around and work with us for a while. It saves you the trouble of constantly having to check your venmo/zelle accounts and just generally makes the whole operation run smoother. Also... if you're the sort of client who's through enough to be reading this right now, you might already realize that half-hour-long sessions are a bit cheaper if you're paying with credits. (Effectively $37.50 vs $40 for Tutornator Status and $40 vs $50 for Standard Status).

If you opt for the Pay-As-You-Go option but do habitually fail to reply to the payment requests in a timely fashion, we may require you to switch to prepaying for at least 4 sessions at a time.
